Owner killed for his Caprice Classic
Owner killed for his Caprice Classic
March 26, 2009 Two men have been arrested for the shooting death of an Ohio man during the car jacking of his refurbished 1987 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. According to various online reports, Jason Baker, 26, of Akron, Ohio was shot in the head outside his residence at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 as he was standing beside his beloved Caprice. He had just returned from cleaning it at a nearby car wash. There is speculation that the suspects either followed Baker home to steal the car, or knew the car was usually parked there. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jason Webster, 23, of Stow, and Robert Nunley, Jr., 21 of Akron, a week following the murder and car jacking and were being held in the Summit County Jail on $1 million bonds. The Royal Blue Caprice with white top and 22-inch silver rims was recovered at a housing development in Kent and was towed to the police garage for examination of clues.
