Willys legend Morris Ratner dies
Willys legend Morris Ratner dies
October 21, 2009 Willys legend Morris Ratner, known by many as “The Jeepsterman,” died Sept. 26 at age 88.
Morris has been a supplier of parts for Willys vehicles from his home in Howell, N.J. for many years. Through his efforts, there are more Willys Jeepsters surviving than being junked or rusting away in backyards and wooded areas. Morris was able to convince manufacturers to tool up for Jeepster parts when no one else would. He supplied not only parts for Jeepsters, but nearly all the Willys products. His wife, Millie, who ran the business with Morris, died in 2006. Their daughter, Shelley Ramhurst, has been running the business for the past two years. |
