Many classic car hobbyists only have a standard home garage. So how can you turn a regular two-car garage into a mini man cave” Jody Schmeisser of Pit Pal Products (www.pitpalproducts.com) brought his Get Organized Garage to the Performance & Racing Industry Show (www.performanceracing.com).
Jody’s trailer products are aimed at racers who needed storage and workspace in their trailers. Being a collector, Schmeisser decided his trailer furniture could be used in a small garage to provide efficient use of a small area.
Using products such as Pit Pal’s Fold Down Table did the trick. It is a 44 in. x 19 in. x 4 ft. 5 in. high aluminum table that can be used as a workbench or folded flat against a wall. In the workbench position, it locks sturdily into place. The Get Organized Garage also included a vertical rack for holding 12 aerosol cans, a push broom holder, a buffer and polisher bracket, a Locktite holder rack and a fluorescent trouble light. A potable aluminum step with diamond plate type finish provided a super safe method of reaching things high on the wall.
Pit Pal builds four different sized adjustable tire racks, a tissue dispenser, a small tape roll bracket, an air tool rack, a clipboard style note pad, a pen holder and a small aluminum business card holder. There is even an aluminum rack specially designed to store electric ties. Any safety inspector would be impressed by the professional-looking Fire Extinguisher Wall Cabinet.
In addition to its space-conscious design, the Get Organized Garage was colorful and easy on the eyes. It had a floor of yellow, red and gray interlocking plastic ties, white walls, white cabinets, black under-counter walls (to hide dirt) and a horizontal red “racing stripe” to give the garage a real “car guy” (or “car gal”) look. A nice thing about Pit Pal’s stuff is you don’t have to buy it all at once and even the first cabinet or shelf you purchase will make the garage look better.
