I’ve got a little business to take care of down in Indianapolis, so I decided to mix pleasure with business and drive to the Brickyard in my 1953 Pontiac Catalina. Unfortunately, it’s been a few years since I traveled that far in an early postwar car and I’m really looking forward to the ride. My plan is to skip going through the Chicago bottleneck. Instead, I’ll head south towards Madison, Wisconsin, then go to Peoria, Illinois, before turning east to Indy. So keep your eyes open for a yellow Catalina and wave if you see me scoot by. When I get home next week I should have some good stories to tell.
If you have your own story about traveling in a ’53 Pontiac (or any ’50s car for that matter) just click the “comments” link below and let ‘er rip.
