Having just come back from a car show in Traverse City, Mich., where my car was parked in a parking lot, I found the news of a recent incident interesting. On June 8, 2011 the driver of a modern car crashed into two classic cars participating in a car show in California. The driver was exiting off of a busy street and accelerated up the driveway into parking lot where the car show was going on. Evidently. she was surprised by the car show being held in a parking lot and her foot slipped off the brake onto the gas. She jammed the accelerator, drove through a planter box and drove into the side of a Pontiac Lemans, pushing it into a 1940 Ford roadster. At least the Traverse City car show organizer were careful to block off all the streets around the show, rather than just around the parking lot. My car and others were very safe.
