MUSCULAR MUSCLE CAR CHASSIS

Rich Bickle, a former NASCAR driver, was a vendor at the Lefthander Chassis (www.lefthanderchassis.com) Trade Show in Roscoe, Ill., on Jan. 9-10. Bickle is also the owner of Muscle Up Performance in Janesville, Wis. Bickle feels that some of the ‘60s and ‘70s cars that people collect today did not have enough chassis to go with their monster motors. “Back then, you could call something a performance car, but it was really about as far away from a performance car as you could get. It had old knuckle steering with tie rods about the size of your pinky,” says Bickle. “If you bumped anything, you were going to bend it. The cars looked great, but they really had very inadequate frame and chassis components.” Muscle Up Performance decided to make improvements and engineered a full-frame, bolt-in replacement chassis that can be used under the following cars: 1967-1981 Camaro; 1965-1970 Mustang; 1953-1962 Corvette; 1964-1972 Chevelle; 1955-1957 T-Bird; 1962-1967 Nova and 1964-1972 GM A-bodies. The chassis are handcrafted in the Janesville shop. Each individual chassis is designed for the customer’s particular needs using the finest DOM steel and tubing. All Muscle Up Performance full-frame replacement chassis are precision designed, fully jigged, mandrel bent and welded to exacting specifications to insure the highest quality strength and product integrity. Each frame includes body mounts and core supports for easy, do it yourself applications. For more information check the company’s Website: www.muscleupperformance.com
