I was just thinking that this September will mark my 29th year of working at Old Cars Weekly. Even though that is a long time, I’m really a “newbie” to the old-car hobby. Why, I didn’t even start collecting cars until the early 1970s, when I was 25 years-old. And I started with ’50s cars, which were “leading edge” at that time. I’m certainly not the oldest living old-car hobbyist, but I wonder who is? Let’s see if we can use this blog to find out. I’m serious. Send me your nominations. If you know of someone who has been at this game a long time, find out the following: 1) What year did he or she start collecting old cars? 2) What was the first old car in the collection? 3) How old is the person today? My guess is we might come up with someone who has been collecting for 60 years. What do you think about that?
