Only a couple hundred 1939 Buick Century convertible sedan models were built, and you can bet there are only a small fraction left. It’s much easier to get a hold of Brooklin’s new white-metal 1:43 model of the rare four-door droptop.
Brooklin has modeled the beloved bulbous body of the harp-grilled 1939 Buick with the masterful precision this model maker is known for. That grille and all the other body trim — the hood vents, Art Deco door handles, combination hood hinge and ornament, as well as the rear deck trim such as the emblem, hinges and handle — are all tiny, separate plated parts. The miniscule plated wiper arms, tail lamps and horn button, as well as the interior door handles, are also impressive in their fidelity and accuracy.
The red interior trim beautifully complements the Casino Beige exterior, and the woodgrain finish on the instrument panel is an especially nice touch.
Buick lovers will not be disappointed by Brooklin’s latest edition to its Buick Collection 1934-1939. The model retails for around $135; find a Brooklin dealer on Brasilia Press’ website at www.brasiliapress.com or by FAX at 574-262-8799.
