Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum to host third ‘Best of Britain’ show

The Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia is one of the newest museums out there, and it’s also among the coolest. Not only does it showcase some of the world’s finest cars, it does so in a world-class setting. On top of it all, this museum dusts off its prizes from time to time to warm up the pistons and tires for all to see.

From Feb. 11-26, the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum will hold its third-annual Best of Britain show. This year, the theme is the “Battle of Britain” between Triumph and MG. This is the 50th anniversary (roughly speaking) of the Midget, MGB, TR4 and Spitfire, and the museum will have examples of each on display. Plus, it’ll have MGC vs. TR250/6, MGB GT vs GT6 and more. A special section will be devoted to V-8-powered British sports cars, including a Cobra roadster and Sunbeam Tiger.

The show opens with a Push Start Launch Party on Friday, Feb. 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Food and drink will be provided: shepherd’s pie, sausage rolls with chips (fries), and beer and wine. Tickets are $25 each ($20 for museum members) and must be purchased by Feb. 9 for an accurate head count for the meal.
