‘Magical Mystery Tour’ car on auction block

1967 Iso Grifo: Bought new by nine-time motorcycle World Champion Mike
Hailwood, featured in The Beatles Movie, The Magical Mystery Tour, and
one of only 31 right-hand drive examples produced.

The 1967 Iso Grifo owned by Mike Hailwood and featured in the Beatles’ “The Magical Mystery Tour” film is for sale in the upcoming Coys at Ascot auction May 14 in the UK.

The car was bought new by nine-time Motorcycle World Champion Mike Hailwood and used as his daily transport. Early in its historic life, Mike’s Grifo also appeared in the legendary psychedelic Beatles film “A Magical Mystery Tour”.

Described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, the car underwent a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration which has brought the car back to being as close as possible to how the car looked when Hailwood bought it in ‘67.

Arguably one of the finest Grifos in existence, this rare right-hand drive example has great provenance to match its outstanding overall condition and should be first on the “to buy list” for any collector before prices follow their Maranello rivals.
