Corvette aftermarket company to sponsor series around America’s sports car

Mid America Motorworks will be a Presenting Sponsor for Goin’ Mobile Video Productions’ new, original TV series titled “Corvette Nation.” The Series will be broadcast on Discovery’s Velocity Channel starting in September 2013.

The 13-episode series revolves around America’s favorite sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette. The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most recognized and admired American-built sports cars in the world. In addition to showcasing the Corvette through the years, “Corvette Nation” will explore all of the events, stories, folklore, technicians and professional drivers associated with this extraordinary machine.

Mid America Motorworks will have an active involvement in the series, including an episode dedicated solely to Corvette Funfest 2013, the World’s Largest Corvette Party. “Corvette Nation” hosts Bill Stephens, Corvette enthusiast and television producer, host and writer, and Maria Prekeges, automotive and sport host and producer, will be joining the Corvette aftermarket parts and accessories company at the 20th Anniversary of the event Sept. 19-22 at Mid America Motorworks’ Corporate Campus in Effingham, Ill. The industry celebrities will be filming for the show as well as putting on exclusive seminars about the production of the “Corvette Nation” TV series.

Known as the Largest Corvette Party in the World, Corvette Funfest isn’t your typical car show. With non-juried fun judging, one-of-a-kind expert seminars and a guest list including some of the best-known names in the Corvette world, it’s no wonder that Funfest has become a must-attend event for people in more than 36 states and multiple foreign countries.

It’s no secret that 2013 is a big year, celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Corvette and welcoming the C7 into the fold. It’s also a big year at Mid America Motorworks, as they celebrate the 20th Annual Corvette Funfest and the kickoff of their 40th year in business. Having the TV show as part of it is a bonus.

“The Corvette is such a staple of the car culture. We’re looking forward to working with the team at ‘Corvette Nation’ to give this icon the recognition it deserves,” said Mike Yager, founder and chief cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks.

Each week, Bill and Maria will introduce the episode from various locations and events around the country.  “Corvette Nation” will broadcast on Friday evenings, 7 pm EST, with a rebroadcast at 2 am EST, starting on Sept. 13.
