13 distinctive donor cars to be sold for charity

Leake Auction Co. recently consigned 13 cars from a private collection in Texas to sell for charity during its November 19-21 auction to be held in Dallas. The collection features several distinctive sports cars, including: a 2006 Saleen S7 coupe, 2008 Spyker C8 Spyder (pictured below), 2003 Lamborghini Murcielago coupe, 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo Model 140 coupe, 2003 Aston Martin Vanquish S coupe, 2007 Bentley Azure convertible, 2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti coupe and a 2002 Ferrari Spider. Other cars from this collection include: a 1974 Volkswagen “The Thing” phaeton, 1930 Model A Ford, 1962 Chevy Corvette convertible (pictured above), 2008 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR convertible and 2005 Ford GT coupe. All proceeds from the sale will go to The Jesse Tree, a non-profit organization in Galveston, Texas.

The Jesse Tree is a faith-based organization that connects people with the health care, social services and ministerial resources they need to rebuild their lives and uplift their spirits. From hunger to education to chronic medical conditions, The Jesse Tree works through direct services and a network of partners to ensure that clients receive all the care and services they need. They work to determine every service for which a client is eligible and then connect them to those services.

After Hurricane Ike battered the Galveston and south Texas region in 2008, The Jesse Tree saw a tremendous increase in need for services while its supplies dwindled. “Through Tony Buzbee’s generous donation, we will continue to provide food, medical assistance and spiritual service to those who desperately need it,” said Ted Hanley, executive director of The Jesse Tree. “He has really offered us the opportunity to sustain our services. We spend $15 million a year on fresh vegetables, fruits and other food to feed 50,000 people.”

“This is a magical collection of high performance specialty cars,” said Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Co. “These are cars rarely seen, so you will not want to miss this collection. This is a great opportunity to own a world-class automobile.”

The auction will take place in Dallas Market Hall. Doors will open at 9 a.m. daily. Five-hundred cars are anticipated to cross the two-ring auction block.
