1965 Mustang races to record price at Russo and Steele

Saturday’s early action at the 6th Annual Russo and Steele Auction in Scottsdale resulted in a number of major sales, including one that’s almost certainly a record, according to both the auction podium and Old Cars Price Guide Editor Ron Kowalke.

The 1965 Ford Mustang GT two-door convertible (289-cid, 4-spd.) closed for $67,000, generating lots of excitement. “This is one powder-blue car that brought a sky-high price,” Kowalke said.
