From Nov. 17-24, the museum will feature a special display of 1957 Chevrolets.
“It just wouldn’t be right to let the opportunity pass by without taking time to honor one of the most popular cars Chevrolet ever produced,” said curator Allen McDaniel. “Chevy enthusiasts all over the world have been celebrating this 50th anniversary all year long, and now we’re bringing this celebration to Tupelo’s doorsteps.”
McDaniel, a ’57 Chevy lover himself, has lined up nearly two dozen Chevrolets from local car owners to be displayed in the museum, and you can bet he will probably have a few of his own mingled in with the others.
“We have arranged for many proud 1957 owners to display their prized possessions for a week in the museum as a part of our special anniversary display,” said McDaniel. “Chevrolet offered approximately 21 different passenger car models in 1957, and we want to have as many of them represented as possible. We will have two-door and four-door sedans, station wagons, sedan deliveries, hardtops and convertibles on display in a variety of colors.”
The exhibit will be on display the week of Thanksgiving, though the museum will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. For more information, call the museum at 662-842-4242 or visit www.tupeloauto.com.
