Ultimate Garage Giveaway 2009 winner announced

As winner Ellen Heldt of Georgia figures it, what could be more appropriate than her winning the 2009 Old Cars Weekly Ultimate Garage Giveaway?

One of Ellen’s highlights in attending the Iola Old Car Show has
been meeting Hollywood star Greg Evigan of "B.J. and the Bear".

“I live in the subdivision of “Classic Village” with street names such as Duesenberg Dr., Stutz Ct., Cord Ct. and Pierce Arrow in the town of Tucker,” she said. Heldt’s also been a regular visitor to the Iola Old Car Show, “many times over, as many years as I can remember. My dad took us every summer in his ’51 Packard convertible countless years before it was awarded a spot in the blue ribbon section.” She was not always excited about going to the show since it often landed on her birthday weekend, but now she and her family look forward to the annual trip.

The ’51 Packard, the same one that took her home from the hospital after she was born, remains in the family. “I am glad Dad and Mom never found the desire or need to let the Packard go,” she says. Added is a ’49 Packard that needs restoration.

The plethora of gifts Ellen won in the random drawing will be shared with her father and brother. The items include a 1978 C10 Custom Deluxe 1/2-ton long box pickup; a 6,000-lb. Scissor Lift from Complete Hydraulic Service; Open transport from Express Auto Transport; a Millermatic Welder 140 Auto Set from Miller Electric; a buffer kit from Meguiar’s; a limited edition print from DWAutoArt.com; a Pro-Series Woodgraining Kit from Grain It Tech; 12 bottles of ZDDPlus from Kirban Performance; one pair of Knee Blades from Knee Blades; a Mobile Shop Coat from Vintage Shop Coats; a Rapid Air Master Kit from Engineered Specialties; a neon clock from VanDerBrink Auctions; a case of oil additive B-1 from Bardahl; petroliana signs from Matthews Auctions; a Glenn Pray Autographed Book from Felix De Geyter; a Tool Box Gift Pack from Steele Rubber; a Hand Vac from Metropolitan Vacuum Cleaner Co.; floor mats from Chassis Girl; a bucket of Rustbeeter from Rustbeeter; a Lift-N-Lock Tool Box from Garage-Toys; a Magnetic Finger from TurnPro; a 5-pack Intacap from Intacap; and an American Muscle Challenge board game from Classic Family Entertainment.
