Elvis Presley, “The King of Rock and Roll,” was born on January 8, 1935, making him 81 years old if he were still with us today. His car, a 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe sits in the National Automobile Museum located in Reno, Nevada.
The car was a gift to Presley from his father, Vernon Presley, for his 38th birthday. Quickly becoming a staple, much like his skin-tight costumes, until he gave the car away as a gift to his karate instructor.
Presley acquired the car with a full option package as well as a custom hood and radiator cap. The white exterior, white interior auto weighs 4,897 pounds and has a V-8 cylinder OHV engine with 235 horsepower.
Presley’s Cadillac Eldorado Coupe is just one of the 200 antique, vintage, classic and special interest cars in the museum’s impressive collection. The cars in the collection were once part of the original Harrah’s Automobile Collection, owned by the late William F. Harrah.
Elvis Presley’s 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe can be seen at the National Automobile Museum.
