Charlotte, N.C.– In early September, the Charlotte AutoFair Fall Meet is the foremost destination for collector vehicle enthusiasts’ who are planning to buy, sell and enjoy thousands of wonderful vehicles. Charlotte AutoFair is highly considered as the premier attraction for car aficionados in the Southeast.
The Hornets Nest Region, AACA, produces this enormous annual event September 4-7, 2008 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway – a great facility in a great location in North Carolina easily accessible to every one. Countless hobbyists have attended many of the Charlotte AutoFair Meets produced over the past thirty years and were able to acquire a fascinating part of automotive history for their collection.
Mel Carson, Executive Director of the Region, says, “the Charlotte AutoFair Fall Meet includes something for everyone who has an interest in collector vehicles, including a 6,000 space multi-field Flea Market, a 1,500 space Car Corral on the Track Oval with some rare and low-mileage vehicles, a 250 vehicle AACA Region Auto Show, hundreds of other vehicles in multiple car club displays, an Auction, plus special exhibits in the large Speedway garages – all of which attract a crowd estimated at 100,000 over four days. In addition to what is offered by the Hornets Nest Region, there is a wonderful assortment of other activities and fun in the area for the entire family.”
Carson advises, “Some space to sell cars and car-related goods will be available at the event, although most vendors are pre-registered.” The gates open to the public at 8:00 a.m., Thursday thru Sunday. Once inside, a person can stay until sundown or until vendors close up their wares. Late in the afternoon is a peaceful time to wander around the Car Corral on the track oval to catch a closer look at some of the many collector vehicles offered for sale.
The Hornets Nest Region maintains a full time business office whose staff works diligently with vendors to help them attain the best sales location possible at Charlotte AutoFair. Also, more than 500 Region Members sustain enormous effort year ‘round in order to produce the Spring and Fall editions of Charlotte AutoFair.
