MID-SIZE CHEVELLE — (SIX/V-8) — ALL SERIES — The more highly sculptured 1970 Chevelle featured a bold-looking frontal treatment with split grille and dual, blending headlights. A new slotless front bumper incorporated rectangular parking ramps directly below the headlamps. The swept-back front fender look was gone, replaced by a blunter image. An upper feature line ran from above the headlight level to the top of the back bumper, with a prominent dip at mid-waist height. Rear side markers with a slotted and segmented look were seen. The Chevelle 300 Deluxe name was dropped. The Chevelle was the base model and the Malibu was one step up. A wide range of station wagons included the Nomad (comparable to the old standard 300 line); the Deluxe Greenbriers; Malibu-level Concours and the top-of-the-line Concours Estate Wagon (essentially with Monte Carlo-level appointments).
