A few weeks ago I mentioned that Jesse Ruffalo, a big car collector in our central Wisconsin area, had unexpectedly passed away. Now comes word through an article in the June 25 edition of the Stevens Point Journal (www.stevenspointjournal.com) that Ruffalo's 50-plus-cars collection will be showcased at the Iola Old Car Show in a two weeks and then sold off. The newspaper story says that 15 cars are going to the Barrett-Jackson auction in January (where one of Ruffalo's '57 De Sotos sold for $285.000 last year). There are also local and totally unconfirmed rumors that additional cars are headed for some of Dana Mecum's auctions. Don't quote me on that. The newspaper story says only that the family has not yet made a decision on what will happen to all of the cars. Whatever hapens, we hope that these wonderful cars find food homes, as Ruffalo's collection was outstanding.
