The inaugural Daytona Beach Dream Cruise will be held Oct. 24-26 at multiple venues, throughout the greater Daytona Beach Area. The event is being organized by the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Owners of collector vehicles and the general public will have many chances during the cruise weekend to experience a wide variety of antiques, classics, muscle cars, rods, sports cars, exotics, and specialty trucks. Atlantic Avenue cruising will be just one of the activities planned for the event. Details and a map are available online at www.DaytonaBeachDreamCruise.com. All activities are free.
Special gatherings will begin Friday evening with a contest featuring 20 Elvis tribute artists. Saturday there will be open houses at designated automotive businesses in the morning and afternoon, including the headquarters of Crane Cams.
Suggested time for cruising along a recommended nine-mile stretch of Atlantic Ave. (A1A) is Saturday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Between 3 and 9 p.m. Saturday, there will be many special cars and trucks in the Volusia Mall main front parking lot along International Speedway Blvd. There’s live entertainment from 3 to 6:45 p.m and a free outdoor movie after dark featuring beach racing in the area.
Other Saturday activities include a sock hop at a local eatery beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday will feature a gathering from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in restaurant adjacent to the Halifax Harbor Marina.
