York, Penn.'The quiet summer days of south central Pennsylvania will come alive with the sounds of high horsepower engines and the mellow tones echoing thru Flow Masters as the legendary race cars and muscle cars of the '60's and '70's converge on the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13 and 14th for the Sixth Annual York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals presented by Toyota.
The show is the annual reunion for the York Dragway which closed 28 years ago and for the Legends of Drag Racing who reunite to celebrate their many feats at the local drag strip that was one of the countries' leading facilities in its time.
A star studded group of Legends of Drag Racing will be signing autographs and visiting with their fans during the show. Paul Mayo, George Cureton, "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn, Ed Hedrick, Sam Auxier, Jr., Tom Sneden, Jere Stahl, Bruce Larson, Joe Jacono, Barbara Hamilton the first woman licensed by NHRA to drive a supercharged vehicle, Jungle Pam, Ken Montgomery, Tom Raley, three World Super Stock Champions and the S & S Racing Team to mention a few.
The show will feature a special Gasser Reunion with a great display of '60's and '70's gas coupes and sedans plus the Legion of Honor awards on Friday at 6 p.m.
A special unveiling of Charlie Garrett's '33 Willys Coupe which was recently completed by Yvonne & Randy Davis of Hanover, PA will be held Friday at 2 p.m.
The show is an all inclusive show of street driven muscle cars, street rods, legendary race cars, legends of drag racing and quality muscle cars of the era.
The show opens Friday, July 13th from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 14th from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Special two day discount ticket is $20.00, single day ticket is $12.00, children under 12 admitted free with an adult and there is free parking.
Sunday, July 15th action turns to Beaver Springs Dragway for the Fourth Annual York Nostalgia Nationals. Gates open 8 a.m.
