DES MOINES, Iowa'If you are a "big fin" fan yet still find yourself drawn to Corvettes and concept cars, then the 8th annual Salisbury Automobile Classic is a show you won't want to miss.

Held each year to benefit the Salisbury House Foundation, this year's event will be held Sept. 7 – 9 and will include a GM Futurliner and a Gatsby-era gala. The Salisbury Automobile Classic is limited to classic and prestige automobiles, plus one special-interest class determined by the organizing committee.

This year the committee has chosen to feature cars designed or inspired by the legendary Harley Earl.

Mr. Earl spent many years working for General Motors as an engineer and industrial designer. He was instrumental in leading the automotive industry into the design business and is credited with introducing the idea of annual styling model changes, chrome trim, and the ever-popular tail-fin craze of the '50s and early '60s.
