Last year I had a writing assignment that took me to Dana Mecum's auction in Indianapolis. It was the first time I had been to the sale at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and I took so many photos of great cars that I nearly crashed my hard drive. I don't think I will be back again this year, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to miss it. Indy turns into a real car town in May and that adds a lot to the excitement of this particular venue. I am on the Mecum email list and nearly every day I get a message about another fantastic car coming to the Indy auction. Today, it's Lot F279, a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe with the 427-cid/435-hp engine that was sold new by Yenko Chevrolet. The car is scheduled to cross the block on national television at 9:05PM on Friday, May 20. To find out more about this fun event visit www.mecum.com.
