Since I only have five segments left to complete this series, it's time I stopped rambling about the past and started summarizing what three decades of working for OLD CARS WEEKLY means. I will tell you that for a kid who grew up in New York City housing projects and whose first job was collecting shopping carts at a supermarket, the idea of turning my hobby into a career was truly the realization of a dream. Nothing symbolizes that journey better than the idea that I read Tex Smith's book "How to Fix Up Old Cars" when I was young and later, when I was in my mid '30s, I got to supply the cover photo of a Corvette for a new edition of that book. OLD CARS WEEKLY is a very unique and lovable publication that has now served this hobby for 40 years and working there was not like working - it was like "living the dream."
