Filler Detective finds hidden body damage
New device identifies various car body fillers
The Filler Detective was built to solve a concealed mechanical problem on cars, trucks and motorcycles.
How do you know if a car, truck or motorcycle has been in an accident and been repaired? Or how do you locate hidden damage on any sheet metal part?
If the seller doesn’t know, or is hiding knowledge of an accident, if the repair was done poorly using more body filler than was prudently necessary, or if a repaint (or several of them) is hiding body filler – you need to be able to find out where it is on the vehicle or parts, and how deep it is.
ONLY the Filler Detective ™ (Patent Pending) can do this, and it lets you know audibly with ever-increasing frequency as the body filler gets deeper, and lights up different colored LED’s as the body filler gets deeper. The sound is detectable even in noisy environments such as auctions, car shows, large crowds, roadside generated noise, machinery noise, and ambient noise. The lights are discernible in bright sunshine, and really brilliant in any lesser lit areas.
With this one-button meter, you can either spot check body metal, or slide it on the micro-fabric nose over a whole panel to get your readings.
The technology behind this meter is new, and uses the AirKoil™ (which is a core-less coil) to form a resonant circuit with a capacitor (Patent Pending). Through this circuitry, oscillations are begun and kept constant even with a loss of energy from the steel sheet metal. The Filler Detective adjusts negative resistance to compensate and compares this to a set of predetermined thresholds. It then displays, via LEDs of different colors, into which region the extra compensating energy falls. This is your implied depth of the body filler, as well as pulsed audio tone increases in repetition rate, which sounds different increases in filler thickness over an initial threshold.
This is all adjusted at the factory so no attention is needed for any temperature or other settings once the meter is in service.
The meter comes with a Duracell 9 Volt Battery, lanyard, battery cover screwdriver, and ASA plastic substrate metal test plate, and two extra micro-fabric slide covers available free upon request, to protect paint jobs when you test for body damage and filler repairs.
It will fit in most shirt pockets, has a stainless belt clip, and inside has a snap action super-grip battery cable, a low battery light enhancement circuit, and a failsafe diode in case the battery is initially installed reversed so the circuit board isn’t harmed.
The body shell is die cast of ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) High Grade Automotive Parts Plastic, and painted with # 385 Pantone rubber paint.
The Filler Detective™ is RoHS compliant (Any RoHS compliant component is tested for the presence of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). For Cadmium and Hexavalent chromium, there must be less than 0.01% of the substance by weight at raw homogeneous materials level. For Lead, PBB, and PBDE, there must be no more than 0.1% of the material, when calculated by weight at raw homogeneous materials. Any RoHS compliant component must have 100 ppm or less of mercury and the mercury must not have been intentionally added to the component); meets FCC (Federal Communications Commission) requirements, has a limited one-year warranty, comes with a Duracell 9 Volt Battery, a screwdriver for changing the battery, and the testing is done by an in house engineer to make sure you get what is promised.
This meter will FIND any body filler. Every time.
