grounds, home to a majority of the LeMay collection.

The Auto Appraisal Group (AAG) will host an appraisal symposium on March 26-28, 2009 in Tacoma, Washington. The purpose of the symposium is to educate professionals and collectors in various aspects of the science behind the art of appraising. According to AAG’s founder & master appraiser, Larry Batton, “Appraising is an art, but there is a definite science that goes into it.” Batton has been appraising cars for over 35 years and it is his wealth of knowledge and vision for compiling values into a comprehensive database that keeps AAG at the forefront of the appraisal industry.

AAG’s seminar will cover topics that include: the tools and techniques used to establish a car’s value, qualifying as an expert witness, diminution of value, how to improve the value of your collector car, and today’s market trends. The symposium will be in conjunction with a New Agency Certification class to be held March 23-26 on the Marymount grounds, home to a majority of the LeMay collection. AAG first appraised this significant collection of over 2000 automobiles in 1990. The amassing of such an outstanding group of automobiles has never been repeated.

AAG tests each of its agents prior to their certification and the symposium will be an added bonus for this graduating class. “Current agents are invited to attend and update their professional skills and knowledge about the appraisal business whenever we hold a new certification class. This helps our certified agents stay current on updated techniques and industry needs and allows them to share from their experiences. This exchange of information also helps new agents know what to expect and how to better serve AAG’s clients,” says Batton.

Weekends seminars are open to the public with limited seating available and will help owners increase the value of their collector cars and understand the changing trends in today’s uncertain market. AAG is offering free tickets to clients who complete appraisals during the week of the certification class and symposium.
