CHICAGO ‹ Everyone has a story about a '57 Chevy, especially during the model's 50th anniversary this year. The Volo Auto Museum's Chicago Auto Show exhibit will pay special tribute to this very special golden anniversary Feb. 9-18 in McCormick Place's North Hall.
With its hooded headlights and sleek tail fins, the two-tone Bel Air's silhouette is an ultimate classic. But was the '57 truly the best of the famous '55, '56 and '57 Bel Airs?
"My favorite's the '55 Chevy," said Volo Auto Museum owner Greg Grams. "They say the '57 is the best, but I just like the lines on the '55, the looks of it."
Design nuance is why Volo's Chicago Auto Show exhibit will fascinate visitors, who will see two '57 models, as well as restored examples from the '55 and '56 model years.
In addition, the museum will display star cars, the vehicles that put the "motion" in motion pictures. A VW Bug from "Herbie: Fully Loaded," a Yenko Camaro from "2 Fast, 2 Furious" and other vehicles from the big screen will also be in Volo's display. Learn more at www.volocars.com.
