Old Cars Reader Wheels: 1949 Ford two-door sedan custom

Old Cars spotlights a reader’s 1949 Ford two-door sedan custom

William Taylor is the proud owner of this updated and modified ’49 Ford. Here is what he had to add about his two-door sedan…

"I am actually the 4th owner. I purchased it on eBay Motors in August of 2014. Many modified changes were completed before I bought it. The color is a 2000 Subaru teal. It has a power blue valor interior, 302 c.i.d. engine with C-4 transmission w/overdrive and a tilt steering wheel. I changed the electrical system from 6-volt to 12-volt. The rear end is from a 1978 Ford Thunderbird w/drum brakes. It has a 1978 Ford Mustang II rack & pinion w/ power disc brakes. I installed all new window rubbers, new NOS side chrome, glass blue dot tail lights and a stainless dual exhaust. The trunk and interior rugs are high pile carpeting. I moved the battery from engine compartment to the trunk. It also has an aftermarket Jen-Air A/C unit installed. The paint is set off with two-tone pinstriping. The engine compartment is completely redone with chrome accessories. Since I purchased, I have been to many local car shows and have won many awards."
