The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum will host the 2012 National Association of Automobile Museums National Conference May 15 through May 18, 2012. Museums from across the country will attend.

Presentations by professionals will focus on growing smaller museums, staying up to date with accounting principles, automobile focused round tables, and product development for museum stores. On May 17, the group will travel to Michigan to visit the Gilmore Museum. Special activities such as a progressive dinner through area museums, attendance at the downtown cruise-in, and a “Dining to Donate” night with Applebee’s has been arranged for out-of-town guests.

“Besides the education and information each individual will receive during lectures, our guests will have an enjoyable stay in Auburn,” said Kendra Klink, Operations Director of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. “This is an exciting week for the Museum to not only host this professional group in our Museum, but to share Auburn and the other museums in DeKalb County with them. This truly is the ‘Home of the Classics.’”

The conference will conclude Friday, May 18th with a keynote address by Margery Krevsky, dubbed by Forbes magazine as the “queen bee of auto show models.” Krevsky is passionate about cars, auto history, styling and innovation. She is also author of the award winning book “Sirens of Chrome: The Enduring Allure of Auto Show Models.”
