AFAS PRESIDENT KEN EBERTS TO BRING AN ARRAY OF PAINTINGS TO THE 2011 AMELIA ISLAND CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE

Automotive Fine Arts Society President Ken Eberts will showcase a group of spectacular works during the 2011 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. The pieces illustrate his diversified appreciation of automobiles, such as his "Carmel Italia," "Carmel Honeymoon," "The Gilded One" and "L.A. Scenic." The celebrated automotive show will take place March 11-13, in Amelia Island, Fla., on the greens of the Ritz-Carlton. The AFAS is comprised of automotive artists from across the globe who create subjects in watercolors, acrylics, oils, wood and various metals.

The 24"x 30" painting, "Carmel Italia," is an original gouache featuring one of the world’s most loved sports cars – a red Ferrari F430. “I wanted to capture the beauty of this exotic with its sleek aerodynamics and curvaceous body,” explained Eberts. “It’s a car that’s pure Ferrari.”

Eberts will also feature his 12" x 18" original gouache, "Carmel Honeymoon" that features a MG TD, the 20" x 30” limited edition giclee "The Gilded One" illustrating a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham and a 30" x 40 limited edition giclee featuring a 1965 Shelby Cobra in his painting, "L.A. Scenic"

“All these pieces have something in common,” added Eberts. “I used all the important elements – people, an aesthetic environment and vibrant colors – to bring my main character to life. By utilizing this technique, the viewer’s attention narrows in on the beauty of the vehicle.”

Eberts graduated from New York’s High School of Music and Art and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. After beginning his career as an automotive designer for Ford Motor Company, Eberts started his automotive art profession in 1968. Over the past 40 years, he has produced over 1,200 original paintings that are currently in public and private collections worldwide.

One of today's foremost automotive fine artists, Ken Eberts' artwork, has been featured at the world's most prestigious automotive events. His paintings have been reproduced as magazine and book covers, Christmas cards, prints, and used as posters for automotive events since 1968.

Ken Eberts has achieved wide recognition for his work. It has been exhibited throughout the United States, earning numerous awards. He has received awards from the City of Los Angeles, American Artist Magazine, the City of Beverly Hills, and the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. He helped establish AFAS and has been president since the organization was incorporated.
