I've said it before and I'll say it again -- You cannot beat the variety at the MSRA's annual Back to the 50's event. I know I've said that before, and I am sure I will say it again. As expected, 2010 delivered the same great selection:
Hot rods? Check.
Rat rods? Check.
Customs? Check.
Restored rides? Check.
Vintage stock cars? Check.
'Big C' Classics? Check.
Here are just a few of the great machines that graced the grounds of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul, Minn., June 18-20, during the meet:
When is the last time you ever saw a 1934 Studebaker? I didn't think so, but here you are: a gennie sedan.
It would almost be a shame to paint the bare-metal lines of this 1936 Pontiac coupe.
This 1953 Anglia stocker shared space with a much-modified twin.
While the English were putting around in little carts such as the Anglia above, Americans were commanding machines such as this Buick. However, only a select few had a view from a 1954 Skylark.
Whether or not it had race provenance, this 1970s-style 1957 Chevy stock car made quite an eye magnet.
Make no mistake, this isn't a rare 1958 Chevrolet Yoeman two-door station wagon, it's an even rarer Delray sedan delivery with windows. 1958 Chevrolet sedan delivery models didn't have a back seat and carried a one-piece tailgate, unlike the two- and four-door station wagons. This one was sweet, and it's mid-$20s price tag didn't seem out of line at all.
