Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1955 Ford Thunderbird Custom
A hot ’55 Ford Thunderbird custom appears to be a great bang-for buck proposition.
Regal Roadsters LTD is a Madison, Wis., shop that specializes in hot reproduction 1955 Thunderbirds. We're not sure how many pop up for sale on Craigslist, but this one did near Sparks, Nev., and we'd like to scrape up a few shekels and doubloons and bring it home!
The owner claims he's dumped over $60,000 into the car, but he needs money so he's offering it for $30k, even though he's only put 600 miles on it.
It's got a 350 Chevy small-block, automatic transmission and a bunch of nice resto-mod goodies, including a really sharp tan-and-cream interior. It's a cool shade of red, it's a first-gen T-bird (sort of), and it's a convertible ... this thing has got fun written all over.
We're sorry the guy who had it built for himself has to part with it. We're digging it!
