Madison Classics' 30th Spring Jefferson Car Show and Swap Meet in Jefferson, Wis., is always strong in muscle car parts, and this year, the event will feature one of the strongest muscle cars of all ' Chevrolet's Chevelle.
Chevelle restorer Jim Hibbert, who owns and meticulously restored this 17,000-mile 1973 Chevelle, often brings one of his GM A-bodies to the Spring Jefferson Car Show and Swap Meet. This Chevelle sports a 350-cid V-8 and a two-barrel carburetor.
A special display will feature stand-out Chevelles inside the Jefferson County Fairgrounds' main activity center during the event, which runs April 27-29. Included in the display will be Ron Procknow's 1966 Chevelle 300 coupe, a car powered by a 485-hp, 498-cid big-block. Randy Arnett of Madison, Wis., will be showing his 502-cid-powered 1964 Chevelle with a four-speed transmission and Tom Karow will display his Marina Blue 1967 Chevelle.
While Spring Jefferson's swap meet and car corral run all three days, the special display of Chevelles will wait until April 29 to be joined by other cars in the Sunday-only car show.
The spectator gates for the swap meet and car corral open April 27 at 1 p.m. and 6 a.m. on April 28-29. The gate for pre-1976 show cars and specialty cars opens at 6 a.m. April 29.
