Ultimate Garage Giveaway 2009 winner announced
This year’s winner was born into the old car hobby.
One of Ellen's highlights in attending the Iola Old Car Show has
been meeting Hollywood star Greg Evigan of "B.J. and the Bear".
“I live in the subdivision of “Classic Village” with street names such as Duesenberg Dr., Stutz Ct., Cord Ct. and Pierce Arrow in the town of Tucker,” she said. Heldt’s also been a regular visitor to the Iola Old Car Show, “many times over, as many years as I can remember. My dad took us every summer in his ’51 Packard convertible countless years before it was awarded a spot in the blue ribbon section.” She was not always excited about going to the show since it often landed on her birthday weekend, but now she and her family look forward to the annual trip.
The ’51 Packard, the same one that took her home from the hospital after she was born, remains in the family. “I am glad Dad and Mom never found the desire or need to let the Packard go,” she says. Added is a ’49 Packard that needs restoration.
