On Aug. 30, 2012, an extremely rare gathering of 23 Stanley steamers will be displayed at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, according to Owen White, president of the Southeast Iowa Antique Car Club. White emphasized the Stanley steamer display is a one-day only affair as part of the Threshers Reunion.
Stanley steam cars were produced by the Stanley brothers from 1897-1927, their most prolific cars coming from their business the Stanley Motor Carriage Co. The Stanley is the best-known and best-selling steam car produced. This will be an exceptional opportunity to see and hear Stanley steamers in one place at one time.
Additional activities at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion include plenty of other old iron, including other types of automobiles, plus trucks and tractors. The reunion runs from Aug. 30 through Sept. 3.
