Holy hubcaps! I slowed down on blogging because I wasn't getting feedback and now I see my last entry about actually driving newly-purchased old cars home got a good response. Go figure. I've never been afraid to drive old cars long distances. When I brought my '53 Pontiac sedan out to Wisconsin, I drove it from New Hope, pa. WITHOUT A BATTERY! I took my first trip across America in that car, stopping every 100 miles to add a quart of oil while the engine was running. The only trouble I had was a loose shock that cost $11 to fix. The first year I got my MG TD (top speed 52 mph) I put 8,000 miles on it with no blinkers, no heater and a quarter-size hole in the muffler! Listen you "trailer queen" lovers, old cars are tough! Try driving them once in awhile.
