On my way out to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas I stopped in Elk Grove Village, Ill., to shoot pictures of the Voodoo Idol, a customized '46 Ford. This gorgeous Jade Green '46 Ford was built by a talented guy named Voodoo Larry Grobe. If you want to see Larry, his cars and his shop go to www.voodoolarrykustoms.com. During our conversation, Larry said that he "almost" had the Voodoo Idol at SEMA and this made me realize how hard it is to have a car at SEMA. It HAS to be a great ride to be there.

So I get out here and I find out that the folks at Auto Meter gauges (www.autometer.com) have launched a new Winning Ride contest that could wind up getting YOUR ride on the SEMA Show floor in 2011. This nationwide contest will pit East against West; old car against new car; muscle car against sports car; and truck against minivan. Auto Meter is challenging everyone who thinks they have a kool ride to go to www.WinningRide.com and enter your car in the contest. You'll also be able to post pictures of it and tell the world how kool it is. In addition, if you win, you'll get a trip to SEMA.
