Last weekend, I headed west to the biennial Odyssey Restorations open house in Spring Lake Park, Minn. The shop, run by owner Tom Rasmussen, is known for its Pebble Beach award-winning work (specifically the ex-Howard family "Seabiscuit" 1932 Buick Murphy town car previously featured in OCW). As a cure for the winter blues, Minnesotans (including "Motor City Milestones" columnist Barney Olsen) dig out from their snowbanks to see what Rasmussen and his team have been up to for the past two years. The caliber of cars never disappoints.
This year, I attended not only to blast away the effects of cabin fever, but also to scout out the shop for the cover of the next issue of Old Cars Guide to Auto Restoration. Part of my mission included snapping the inside of the shop to help our photographer plan the shoot. Those pictures included some of the marvelous cars inside Odyssey Restorations that I share here. (If you want to compare the shop's progress since the 2010 Odyssey Restorations Open House, click this link.)
