On your way to or from Daytona? Stop by the Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley, N.C., which is celebrating another pre-season weekend opening this March 2-5, and organizers are looking forward to a big weekend. Much has changed at WTT since the end of its 2011 season. There's new lighting, new displays and exhibits, and of course, new machines telling the story of American motorcycling and automobiling history.
Perhaps the biggest addition to the museum over the winter is the recently acquired 1949 Veritas — a one-of-a-kind auto built in Germany after World War II. The car is in remarkable original condition, and is being brought back to life in its "barn find" condition by museum curator Dale Walksler and good friend Eugene Smyers.
