Cruise back in time as the Antique Auto Museum at Hershey presents its 14th Annual CAR Show on Saturday, June 27. It’s a day designed for car collectors, weekend cruisers, and people who just like cars.
This year’s CAR Show will highlight antique and classic cars, street rods, motorcycles, even trucks and buses, all from 1984 and earlier. Festivities will take place on the grounds surrounding the Antique Auto Museum at Hershey from 8 AM – 3 PM. The CAR Show events are free to the public. The Museum will be open from 9 AM – 5 PM, with a special tour of the back garage midday and regular Museum admission will apply.
The CAR Show runs from 8 AM – 3 PM. A cornerstone of the festivities, it’s a cruise-in style car show for “anything with wheels.” Antique car rides will be available from Noon until 1:30 PM. Food will be available all day, beginning at 9:00 AM. As part of community awareness, the Central Blood Bank will have a donor vehicle onsite for blood donors.
Awards will be presented by class for a variety of “favorite cars” by participant voting, along with the Pinola Trophy for the best Cadillac, the Museum Excellence Award, and the AACA 1st Prize Winners.
Have you ever ridden in an Antique car? Here’s your chance! Several local collectors will be providing free rides in a variety of antique vehicles, including a 1931 Rolls Royce. Rides will be available from Noon until 1:30 PM at the Museum entrance.
With over 100 vehicles already registered for this year’s event, there will be something to see both inside and outside the Museum, including three limited time exhibits. “Sports Cars in America” showcases the history of sports cars from racing to pleasure cruising. The Antique Motorcycle Club of America Foundation Gallery will feature “Fast from the Past: Racing Motorcycles of Yesteryear” with more than 40 vintage racing bikes of all makes, models and years.
The Museum is located just off Route 39, one mile west of Hersheypark Drive in Hershey, Pennsylvania. For further information, please call 717-566-7100 or visit www.aacamuseum.org.
