Beverly Kimes collections dispursed to SAH, CCCA
The research files of renowned historian and author Beverly Rae Kimes have been given to two nonprofit organizations.
The Society of Automotive Historians and the Classic Car Club of America Museum have each received two great gifts from one gifted person.
Following her death in May 2008, the research files of renowned historian and author Beverly Rae Kimes were donated to the SAH, according to the SAH Journal. Much of the material is said to be Kimes’ files from writing “Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1805-1942” and “Pioneers, Engineers and Scoundrels – The Dawn of the Automobile in America.” Separately, the CCCA Museum in Hickory Corners, Mich., received Kimes’ library of published books.
The SAH has made Kimes’ materials available through the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Ind. These files are available during the museum’s regular library hours by calling 260-925-1444 or visiting www.automobilemuseum.org.
