Corvette Race History on Display at Petersen Auto Museum

Petersen Museum to present “Tribute to Corvette Racing” on Oct. 23.

For the 10th annual fall gala honoring great legends of motorsport, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles will present its “Tribute to Corvette Racing” on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m.

The anticipated evening will allow visitors to join hobby celebrities while viewing gallery exhibits of historic and contemporary Corvettes associated with more than five decades of racing. The Petersen’s previous tributes have all been sell-out events.

The evening will include a museum presentation that includes a dozen famous Corvette racing cars on display in the Bruce Meyer Gallery. Renowned drivers to be recognized include Bob Bondurant, Tony DeLorenzo, John Fitch, John Greenwood, Dick Guldstrand, Doug Hooper, Gib Hufstader, Jim Jeffords, Bill Krause, John Mecom, Scooter Patrick, Andy Porterfield, Paul Reinhart and Dick Thompson.
The museum’s program includes an auction of Corvette memorabilia, as well as a preview of the Oct. 25 Bonhams and Butterfield Auction of Motorcycles and Automobiles.
