Iola Old Car Show to Feature ‘Public Enemies’

The Iola Old Car Show is looking for Public Enemy #1.

IOLA, Wis. — Organizers of the Iola Old Car Show are rolling out the red carpet for the cars featured in the Michael Mann film “Public Enemies,” which stars Johnny Depp and several pre-1936 Nashes, Fords, Chevrolets and many other infrequently seen fendered beauties.

This display of star cars will be held July 10-13 on the grass area of the show grounds between the Blue Ribbon section and the prewar show field. Cars will be accompanied by appropriate signs declaring their celebrity status.

Each car owner displaying their car will receive free admission for two people and a guarantee there will be no paparazzi.

In addition to the movie car display, the Iola Old Car Show will feature Joe Bortz’ 1954 Dodge Firearrow show car; the Blue Ribbon Concours, a display of magnificent restored and unrestored vehicles; prewar and postwar show fields; and an exhibit of modified vehicles. An estimated 2,500 cars are expected to be shown by visitors to the event, which features a 4,000-plus-space swap meet, plus a giant car corral.

To register your car for the “Public Enemies” display or any of the other show sections, contact the Iola Old Car Show at 715-445-4000 or e-mail mary@iolaoldcarshow.com.
