Event is May 29-10 at two premier facilities

his 1968 Chevelle SS 427.

RideTech and Bowler Performance Transmissions are sponsoring the inaugural running of the Challenge which will provide a proving ground to test the handling and road manners of some of America’s best-built musclecars.

The Midwest MuscleCar Challenge is a four-element event open to domestic 1978 and prior model year vehicles. The event will be run on May 29th & 30th at two of the Midwest’s premier facilities, Putnam Park Road Course, in Mount Meridian, Indiana, and the Mid-American Air Center in Lawrenceville, Illinois. The four elements include road course, street driving, autocross and a speed-stop challenge.

The high horsepower fun will begin on Saturday with the BFGoodrich Hot Lap Challenge. Putnam Park Road Course is a 1.87-mile, 10-turn, highly technical facility.

The Hot Lap Challenge will be followed by the Bowler Performance Transmissions 99-mile cruise that will wind its way through the scenic byways of southern Indiana and Illinois.

The cruise will conclude on Saturday night with the FlowMaster All American Thunder rib feast. Socializing and bench racing are the two primary items on the agenda for the evening.

Sunday morning promises lots of activity for the day as the Mid-American Air Center continues the high-octane extravaganza. The size of the Air Center allows for the creation of a one-of-a-kind RideTech Street Challenge Autocross course that promises to push the entries to the ragged edge of performance.

The Baer Brakes speed-stop challenge also promises to be an exciting event testing the limits of acceleration, braking and driver skills. The “stop box” will be the ultimate proof of mechanical functionality and driver talent.

The Midwest MuscleCar Challenge will also include a non-judged show-n-shine area to showcase some of the most beautiful automotive craftsmanship on the planet.

The event will be televised to more than 86 million households throughout the country on Fox Sports Net.

Registration for the driving elements will be limited to the first 60 entries. The entry fee is $300 for pre-registration, and $350 the day of the event. Entry includes one vehicle two adults and dinner on Saturday. There are unlimited stand-alone show-n-shine entries for $25. Pre-registration includes two adults and dinner.

Event sponsors include Bowler Performance Transmissions, RideTech, Baer Brakes, BFGoodrich, Flowmaster, Carbon Kustoms, Mothers Polishes, Painless Performance, Royal Purple, and OPTIMA Batteries. The event is produced by FM3 Performance Marketing.
