Pierce-Arrow Society takes aim on Upstate N.Y.

54th Annual PAS Meet to be held June 20-25, 2011, in Fairport, N.Y.

FAIRPORT, NY – The Pierce-Arrow Society (PAS) will Tour the Finger Lakes Region when it hosts its 2011 National Meet in Fairport, New York on June 20-25, 2011. The 2011 event will be the Society’s 54th Annual Meet and will be held at the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa.

Pierce-Arrow events are well-known for their hands-on enjoyment and always include numerous driving Tours. With New York’s Finger Lakes Region being recognized for its abundance of natural beauty and amazing attractions, the 2011 event offers an enticing assortment of opportunities for Pierce-Arrow owners to take aim on some serious driving enjoyment.

This year’s destinations include a visit to the Watkins Glen International racetrack in Watkins Glen, N.Y., and a Bristol Harbour lunch and cruise on Canandaigua Lake, along with stops at the Antique Wireless Association Museum in Bloomfield, NY, the Genesee Country Village in Mumford, N.Y., and the Erie Canal.

The Pierce-Arrow Society’s 54th Annual Meet will also feature a welcome party, ladies activities, a swap meet, technical sessions, a concours show and a farewell awards banquet.

It’s been 10 years since the last Pierce-Arrow Annual Meet was held in New York. That event, in 2001, was in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of the creation of the company in Buffalo. Often defined as “America’s Finest Car,” the Pierce-Arrow automobile was produced there, from 1901 through 1938. Many Pierce-Arrows are recognized by their signature, fender-mounted headlights (introduced in 1914) and the familiar Archer radiator ornament. Pierce also produced bicycles, motorcycles, trucks and Travelodge trailers.

The Pierce-Arrow Society was founded in 1957 and enjoys a growing membership from around the world. The Society is further dedicated to the preservation of the Pierce-Arrow marque and its history through its own Pierce-Arrow Museum… a non-profit foundation located on the campus of the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, Mich.
