2011 Iola Old Car Show space deadline nears

April 1, 2011, is deadline for prior year’s space participants

Organizers of the 2011 Iola Old Car Show and Swap Meet remind participants that April 1 is the date for obtaining your same space from the 2010 Iola Old Car Show & Swap Meet. Registration forms were sent out in January for the 39th Iola Old Car Show being held on July 7-10 in Iola, Wis.

The swap meet area was sold out of spaces last year and the procedure for a new vendor who wants to sell auto-related items (must be 90%) is instructed to have a form and payment into the Iola Car Show Office early. Forms are dated and the office works with first come, first served. After last year participants have been assigned their old space or have requested a change, new forms are then processed. Organizers say generally there are 300 spaces that are not renewed.

Campground and Car Corral area works the same way for renewing participant’s space from the previous year, they need to have their form in by April 1. Fortunately, these areas are more flexible and spaces are available even on Car Show Weekend.

Show Car pre-registration has been good thus far for 2011, according to the show office. The feature theme is “Delightful Dodges and DeSotos.” Remember, theme vehicles must be in stock condition and are free for registration – must be pre-registered. Anyone interested in the theme area needs to send in a picture with an informational description of the vehicle.

Two new areas for show cars are All Original and Old Car’s Young Drivers. Plus the show car year is extended to 1981.

To review the different areas of show cars:
