Art Cars to light up downtown Houston
“GlowoRama” parade set for Saturday, Nov. 28.
The illuminated art cars will travel down Avenida De Las Americas in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center. The event will conclude with an “AfterGlow” party inside Hall A of the building.
Street-side parade viewing is free, while GlowoRama VIP Balcony Viewing tickets and AfterGlow party tickets are available at www.GlowoRama.com.
“The GlowoRama will be a celebration of the two largest, most recognized automotive traditions in the Houston-area,” said Bob Larivee Jr., CEO of Championship Auto Shows Inc. “The art car artists in Houston share our passion for custom cars and have developed quite a following in Texas, as well as throughout the country. I can’t think of a better way to commemorate our 50th anniversary.”
The night procession of art cars will begin immediately following the 9 p.m. closing of the AutoRama on Saturday. The AfterGlow party inside the convention center will include a cash bar and food, music by The Rich Latimer Band and stunning views of some the nation’s top custom cars and motorcycles on display at the Houston AutoRama.
"We're very excited to be participating in AutoRama’s 50th Anniversary," said Evelyn Fasnacht, president of Art Cars of Houston Inc. "And we're thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our art cars in a way that they’ve not been seen before in Houston - fully illuminated in a nighttime parade."
