Cars and comedy at Boca Raton

Forget winter, think Boca Raton Concours D’elegance


An automotive showcase features cars and motorcycles from a wide
range of time periods.

Some serious automobiles will gather for the Feb. 19-21 concours at the Boca Raton (Florida) Resort & Club to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. Mighty muscle cars, exotic Classics, wood-bodied wagons, flashy 1950s cars and unique imports provide the varied show field to an event coupled with a series of extravagant and luxurious activities.

The concours d’Elegance festivities begin Feb. 19 with the duPont Registry Live! Hangar Party and welcome reception at Boca Raton Airport Hangar, from 6-8 p.m. This year’s concours will bring back the Friday Night Live! event, where guests can peruse a fine selection of exotic and classic airplanes and automobiles, along with select tastings from premier south Florida eateries. In addition to fine foods, guests can also indulge in an array of premium wines, paired supremely to complement the faire before them.

Feb. 20 features the black tie-optional gala dinner with a live performance by Miller, a five-time Emmy award-winning comedian. Miller is revered for his stand-up comedic talent and well-known for his numerous notable TV and movie roles on “Saturday Night Live,” “Dennis Miller Live,” “NFL Monday Night Football,” “The Dennis Miller Show” and more. The black tie-optional gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour and extensive silent auction, followed by dinner and Dennis Miller’s performance at 9 p.m. Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

In addition, the Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented during the gala dinner to Mike Jackson, an automotive legend known for his decades of commitment in the automotive business arena, as well as his media-appointed role as national spokesperson for auto dealers nationwide.

The Concours d’Elegance Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition begins Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. Car and motorcycle fanatics from around the world will experience an automotive showcase featuring cars and motorcycles from a wide range of time periods.

Once the show kicks off, guests are invited to walk through a series of vendor exhibitions. An expert panel of judges will select the finest cars based on a preset criterion to include period, presentation and authenticity. The award ceremony will commence at 3 p.m. and highlight each concours winner.
