Celebrating 35 years in Palm Springs: McCormick’s 70th live Palm Springs sale recap

With 35 years now under the belt, McCormick’s Palm Spring auction saw good results in turbulent times.

On February 26-28 the McCormick family conducted their 70th live Classic car Auction in the outdoor event area of The Palm Springs Convention Center. This was their 2nd live event produced during the Covid Pandemic. This event followed all CDC guidelines to keep staff and attendees safe.

While the number of consigned vehicles was down from their usual pre-covid numbers of over 500 vehicles, the event was extremely successful with total sales surpassing their previous November auction even though this sale had fewer consignments. 

McCormick noted “There’s a shortage of high quality classic cars on the market and those that are available sell for strong money due to supply and demand”

All in all a total of 322 vehicles crossed the block with 230 changing hands for an impressive 72% sale rate, well above the nation average at a reserve auction.

Their next sale is scheduled for November 19-21, 2021 once again at The Palm Springs Convention Center.
