Celebration highlights ‘Pontiac with a Purpose’

A group of Pontiac lovers from across the nation, and around the world, have gotten together with PontiacRegistry.com to celebrate the long, rich history of Pontiac, and the even greater future of the Pontiac hobbyplace.

This weekend's “A Pontiac Celebration 2010” is a celebration of Pontiac’s rich history. While many are sad about Pontiac being discontinued, event organizers choose to celebrate this fine automobile and the great hobby that has grown around it. Pontiac fans will meet in historic Warwick, R.I., Sept. 17-19, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. But this is much more than just a Pontiac car show.

All profits will be donated to two children’s cancer charities: Alex’s Lemonade Stand foundation for childhood cancer and The Tomorrow Fund helping children and families affected by cancer. This is what we call “Pontiacs with a Purpose.”

There will be a “Teddy Bear Cruise” to the hotel on Friday night, Sept. 17, for all area cars (no matter what make) with music, food and fun. A Saturday trophy show and an evening BBQ party will celebrate all that we love about our cars and our hobby. Well-known Cruisin’ Bruce Palmer will be serving up great music all weekend. A big raffle will be going on during the event with great prizes to raise money for our charities.

The grand prize raffle is a Florida vacation get-away package on beautiful Anna Maria Island on Florida’s west coast in a private condo with gift certificates for dining, gift shops, museums and more.
